Anan Samara has over 20 years of experience in public accounting having served a variety of clients in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. His past practice has included clients experiencing rapid growth into new ventures as well as international issues. Anan is bilingual, fluent in English and Arabic.

He specializes in audits of private foundations, artist-endowed organizations and arts and educational organizations. He has extensive knowledge and experience in financial audits of not-for-profit organizations that have been endowed and/or bequeathed with significant collections of artworks. Anan has also worked with clients the organization has rendered forensic services for in connection with significant internal control deficiency.

Anan also provides Private Foundation clients with expert review and other non-attest services to improve the grant making process and grantee due diligence – including grantee monitoring, reporting practices, deliverables and milestones.

Anan co-chairs the organization’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and was recognized by Long Island Business News as a 2024 Diversity in Business Award recipient. He is a frequent instructor in the organization’s continuing professional education program and a contributing author to many of the monthly Private Foundation specific accounting and tax bulletins.
