Brenda Russell has more than 25 years of experience in both public and private accounting. She began her career in audit and tax, building a well-rounded foundation that continues to inform her work. She later served as a Financial Reporting Manager at a large publicly traded company.
Brenda specializes in tax planning, compliance and strategic tax advisory for clients across a range of industries, including franchise, manufacturing, distribution and real estate. Her clients range from individuals to large corporations, with a focus on closely held businesses and their owners.
In addition to client work, Brenda supports the organization’s Center for Private Business Owners by developing customized strategic advisory plans for clients and prospects. Brenda is an instructor in the organization’s continuing professional education program and presents at its Annual Tax Update. She is also actively involved in the organization’s Women’s Initiative Network.
Brenda serves as chair of the Tax Committee for the Rhode Island Society of CPAs, where she collaborates with the Rhode Island Division of Taxation on tax policy, practices and legislative initiatives.
She was named to the Forbes “Best-in-State CPAs” list in 2025 and 2026.
