Mark J. Piszko has more than 40 years of experience providing audit and consulting services to a wide range of not-for-profit entities including charitable organizations, religious entities, educational and cultural institutions and social service agencies receiving government funding. He is a Senior Partner in the Firm’s Not-for-Profit practice and has led the rapid growth of that area for more than a decade.
In addition to attestation services, Mark provides budget and financial statement analysis, consolidated fiscal report reviews, state standards of payment report reviews, internal control reviews, management reporting, assistance to boards and audit committees with organizational governance, performance of audits in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance for Single Audits and consultation on the New York Nonprofit Revitalization Act and the New York Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act.
Mark is a frequent instructor for internal and external continuing professional education programs and a regular contributor to the organization’s not-for-profit Thought Leadership articles, as well as national publications including The NonProfit Times and Accounting Today. As a member of the Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, he served as Chair or Co-Chair of the society’s annual nonprofit conferences from 2013 through 2016.
Most recently, Mark was named to City & State New York’s “Nonprofit Trailblazers” list for two consecutive years.
