Michael J. Thilker has more than 15 years of experience in accounting and auditing. His client base primarily includes not-for-profit and affordable housing organizations. His work spans a broad range of audit, compliance and reporting matters.
Michael performs audits of not-for-profit organizations subject to Single Audit requirements and other compliance testing. These engagements often involve federal and state funding considerations, complex regulatory requirements and related reporting obligations.
Michael conducts System and Organization Controls (SOC) reporting, including SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements. He performs both Type 1 and Type 2 reports and works closely with organizations to evaluate and strengthen internal controls, address risk areas and support transparency with customers, stakeholders and regulators. He has lectured on a range of topics, including SOC reporting and not-for-profit organizations.
