Timothy J. Desmond has more than 30 years of experience in providing accounting and auditing services to a wide range of industry sectors. Employee benefit plans are his specialty.
With the Firm performing over 500 employee benefit plan audits each year, Tim is the founder and current practice leader of the Employee Benefit Services Group. As such, he oversees compliance services for health, welfare and cafeteria plans as well as qualified retirement plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
He is a frequent instructor in the Firm’s continuing professional education programs. In addition, Tim oversees the publication of Employee Benefit Plan Alerts issued regularly by the Firm to keep client plan sponsors updated on new requirements promulgated by federal and state agencies affecting benefit plans.
Tim is a well-known speaker to employee benefit industry groups and serves on industry panels. He represents the Firm in its membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC).
Tim is active in several local not-for-profit organizations and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Adaptive Sports Foundation in Windham, N.Y.
