Localities Set Up Recovery Loan and Grant Programs

In addition to the various federal and state loan programs that were created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, some local jurisdictions have established their own loan and grant programs.

Nassau County, NY has launched the Boost Nassau Small Business Recovery Loan Program as part of the New York Forward Loan Fund (NYFLF). Qualifying businesses may be eligible for a loan up to $100,000. For detailed information and eligibility, click here.

In New Jersey, on August 10, 2020, the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority (NJRA) is launching online ‒ on a first-come, first-served basis ‒ the Small Business Lease Emergency Assistance Grant Program (SBL-EAGP).  This will allow small businesses located in 64 eligible municipalities throughout several New Jersey counties to apply for grants of up to $10,000 for lease costs.

In Rhode Island, many towns are participating in the MicroE Program. This Program offers qualifying small businesses with one to five employees (including owners) grants of $5,000.  For detailed information and eligibility, click here.
