PKF O’Connor Davies Announces 5 New Partners

Promotions deepen tax and accounting expertise while expanding leadership roles for women at the Firm

PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax, and advisory firms, announced today that five individuals have been promoted to Partner. Ashley Mayer, Yahaira Mendez, Eva Mruk, Kerri Rawcliffe and Tara Seymour will expand their leadership roles with the Firm as part of a larger strategic growth initiative focused on promoting top talent from within. The professionals have decades of combined experience in accounting, tax, auditing and advisory services in a wide range of industries.

Two of the new Partners have taken advantage of the Firm’s Flexible Work Options program, which provides additional scheduling considerations for individuals seeking to balance advancing their careers and supporting a family. This program is part of an industry-leading effort within the Firm to provide employees at all levels with the flexibility and support needed to maintain a meaningful work-life balance.

Ashley Mayer has nearly 15 years of audit experience serving employee benefit plans and not-for-profit clients. She is the Vice-Chairman of the Employee Benefits Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and has been an active member since 2014. She is involved throughout the year with preparing and presenting continuing professional education programs on employee benefit plans for staff of the Firm. She is also active with the Firm’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN). She works in the Firm’s Harrison, NY, office.

Yahaira Mendez has worked in the public accounting sector for more than 17 years with a focus on providing tax services to closely held, middle-market companies in a wide range of industries including manufacturing and distribution and hospitality. She specializes in tax planning and compliance for individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, and multistate consolidated tax returns. In 2016, Yahaira was named as one of the “Women of Note” by the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. She also plays an active role as a Liaison for the Cranford office in the Firm’s Women’s Initiative Network.

Eva Mruk works in the Firm’s Exempt Organization Tax & Advisory Services Group in Harrison, NY. She has 23 years of experience providing tax compliance and advisory services to the not-for-profit and tax-exempt sectors, including public charities, social services organizations, membership organizations, cultural organizations, colleges and universities, healthcare, religious organizations, business leagues, trade associations, social clubs, and private foundations. She represents clients with federal and state tax controversy matters and assists in audits and examinations. She stays abreast of current tax legislation and emerging issues and is a frequent author and speaker on the complex tax laws affecting tax-exempt organizations.

Kerri Rawcliffe has nearly 20 years of experience in public and private accounting with experience and knowledge on both the audit and tax sides of accounting. She has developed expertise in individual taxation, not-for-profit organizations, taxation of closely-held businesses in various industries and tax-exempt entities with a strong focus on the hospitality industry specializing in private clubs. She also is actively involved in Firm’s Women’s Initiative Network and is a Liaison for the Providence, RI, office.

Tara Seymour has nearly 25 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in accounting and tax for individuals, small businesses, and private equity firms. Tara has completed the Rainmaker Academy’s Future Leaders program and is actively involved in presenting continuing education classes to other members of the Firm. She has an integral role in the training and ongoing mentoring of team members at the Firm’s Woodcliff Lake, NJ, office to help them advance in their careers.

PKF O’Connor Davies has 14 offices in six states and continues to expand through organic growth and acquisitions on the East Coast. It has supported this growth with a strategic combination of promoting from within coupled with tactical external hires.
