PKF O’Connor Davies Welcomes Brian Powers as Director of Business Development

Innovative business development leader to further accelerate Firm growth and expand market share across practice areas

PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax and advisory firms, today announced that it has hired Brian T. Powers as Director of Business Development. With over 15 years of experience in the marketing and business development fields, Powers assumes responsibility for spearheading the Firm’s growth strategy across northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley. His hiring reflects the ongoing efforts by the Firm to enlarge its operational footprint and position itself as the premier provider of accounting, tax and advisory solutions along the East Coast. Powers will be based out of the Firm’s Poughkeepsie, NY office.

“Brian is a creative, forward-thinking leader who has spent his career building relationships and pursuing results-oriented strategies geared toward sustained business growth,” said Ronald F. DeSoiza, Chief Growth Officer at PKF O’Connor Davies. “I look forward to working with him as we continue to seek opportunities to expand our capabilities, grow our client base and operate in new markets.”

Before joining the Firm, Powers served as vice president of marketing and business development for Mid Hudson Construction Management (MHCM), where he was responsible for marketing, business growth and development and operational initiatives. Prior to his time with MHCM, he served as vice president of marketing and business development for Judelson, Giordano & Siegel, CPA, PC, an accounting and business consulting firm that is now part of PKF O’Connor Davies. In that role, he conceptualized and executed integrated marketing strategies that led to an overall annual increase in firm revenue.

“PKF O’Connor Davies has long been a staple of the Hudson Valley business community, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the team,” Powers said. “I’m eager to reunite with some former colleagues and begin aligning the needs of new and prospective clients with the industry-leading offerings for which the Firm has become known.”

Powers is a proud alumnus of Mount Saint Mary College, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a Master of Business Administration. A lifelong resident of Hudson Valley, he is dedicated to the wellbeing of the community. He formerly served on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of the Town of Wallkill and as a planning board member for the Town of Poughkeepsie. He is currently chair of the board of directors of the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, as well as chair of the strategic marketing committee for the Think Dutchess Alliance for Business.

PKF O’Connor Davies continues to expand through organic growth and acquisitions on the East Coast and beyond. It has supported this growth with a strategic combination of promoting from within coupled with an ongoing focus on top-tier external hires.
