PKF O’Connor Davies Welcomes Thomas Manisero as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer

Seasoned attorney with decades of accounting law expertise to oversee legal function for the Firm

PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax and advisory firms, today announced that it has appointed Thomas Manisero as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer. With nearly four decades of experience representing numerous accounting firms, Manisero is a highly regarded expert in a wide range of legal areas including commercial litigation and transactional matters.

“Tom is a distinguished advisor whom the Firm has trusted to represent our best interests over the last two decades, and he joins us with extensive knowledge and understanding of our business,” said Kevin J. Keane, Executive Chairman at PKF O’Connor Davies. “Representing accountants for the majority of his career, he will be an invaluable resource on legal strategy and for the Firm as a whole.”

Before joining the Firm, Manisero led the accountants practice at Wilson Elser, an Am Law 200 Firm, for more than 30 years and served on the Executive Committee. Over the years, he has frequently represented accounting firms in litigation of malpractice claims, investigations of ethics violations, disputes over restrictive covenants, litigation of securities fraud claims and investigations by the Internal Revenue Service and the Securities and Exchange Commission. His expertise extends to professional liability and commercial cases involving federal and state securities laws, federal and state taxation, RICO, ERISA, accounting standards, limited partnerships, bankruptcy, insurance and reinsurance and insurance insolvency.

Manisero is an accomplished attorney admitted to practice in the state of New York and in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. He has been recognized for his exceptional client service by BTI Consulting Group. Manisero is the former chairman of the finance and executive committees for Purchase Community House, currently sits on the Board of Directors for ArtsWestchester, and remains affiliated with the Federal Bar Council. Manisero earned his Doctor of Law degree from St. John’s University School of Law and Bachelor of Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
