PKF O’Connor Davies, one of the nation’s largest accounting, tax and advisory practices, is proud to announce that Anan A. Samara, a Partner specializing in audits of private foundations, has received a “2024 Diversity in Business” Award from Long Island Business News. The annual program celebrates those in the Long Island business community who actively support the growth of diversity and equality in their workplaces. This is the third consecutive year PKF O’Connor Davies’ employees have been featured by the program.

“Anan’s passion for educating colleagues and clients about the importance of embracing DEI practices has solidified his role as a key contributor to our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion program and strengthened our ability to foster an inclusive and equitable working environment for all,” said Truphena Martin, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager at PKF O’Connor Davies. “This well-deserved award is a reflection of his dedicated efforts, and on behalf of PKF O’Connor Davies’ entire team, I congratulate him and thank him for his ongoing DEI leadership.”

As Co-Chair of PKF O’Connor Davies’ DEI Council, Samara collaborates with the DEI Council to set short- and long-term goals for the organization and establish new DEI policies, programs and initiatives. He is also an Executive Sponsor of the organization’s Disability Employee Resource Group, ensuring all employees feel empowered to bring their true selves to work each day. Further, as a supporter of the organization’s recruiting efforts and frequent attendee of the National Association of Black Accountants’ annual convention, he ensures young professionals from all backgrounds have equitable access to professional development and career opportunities.

“One of my professional objectives has always been to provide others with opportunities for growth and success while advocating for a culture in which all can succeed,” said Samara. “I am honored to be recognized for the positive impact I have made and the meaningful relationships I have forged through this work.”
